Expansion, Integration, and the Wisdom of the Body
A couple months ago, I had my eye on a retreat in Sri Lanka. Logically, it didn’t make sense. The timing, the logistics, the how—none of it lined up in a way that would make a traditional yes feasible. But something about it kept calling me. So instead of shutting it down with logic, I decided to play with the energy of what if.
I’ve learned that the how is what trips us up the most. When we over-focus on how something will happen, we tighten around it, creating resistance instead of flow. But when we soften into the possibility—when we allow ourselves to relax into a yes without needing to control the details—the how has a way of taking care of itself.
So I did that. I let go, I played with the possibility, I stayed open and relaxed into curiosity around possibilities and receptivity. And then the real answer came: I wasn’t supposed to go to Sri Lanka.
I was supposed to move into a new healing space.
And just like that, in a rapid unfolding, it happened. I said yes to something big pretended it was possible, and suddenly, I was stepping into a whole new level of my work. I moved into a new space. I created a meditation program. I booked my first clients.
The expansion was real, happening fast, and I could feel the shift in my nervous system.
And then—just as quickly—I got hit with a cold. Body aches. Sore throat. Fatigue. A full stop. But I knew immediately: this wasn’t just a cold. This was integration.
The Somatic Integration Process
Energy precedes matter. When we expand our capacity—when we step into something bigger than we’ve held before—our nervous system has to catch up.
Sickness, especially colds and body aches, is often the body’s way of hitting pause to reorganize, clear, and upgrade. It can be easy to consider it a setback; but actually it is recalibration.
A deep integration of the new energy we’ve just stepped into.
• Sore Throat? The throat chakra shifting, adjusting to a new level of expression.
• Body Aches? The physical form adjusting to a higher frequency.
• Congestion? A release of old patterns and mental overload.
• Needing Rest? The body demanding time to process, embody, and land in the new space.
This is what re-patterning looks like. This is the physical reality of energetic expansion.
Why This Matters
Because so often, we think of sickness as an inconvenience, a roadblock, or a reason to slow down when we don’t want to.
But what if we reframed it?
What if we saw these moments as necessary integration periods, allowing our body to align with the shifts we’ve just made?
What if instead of resisting, we leaned in—honoring the pause, trusting the timing, and recognizing that healing isn’t just about moving forward, but about allowing the new level of self to fully settle in?
The Invitation
So here I am, in my new space. It’s a blank canvas. A fresh chapter. A next-level reality that I stepped into, and now my body is making room for it.
There’s nothing wrong. Nothing out of place. It’s all unfolding exactly as it should.
Your body is always listening to your expansion. It knows when you’ve stepped into something bigger. It knows what needs to be cleared. It knows when to pause so that you can truly become the version of you that said yes.
So if you’re expanding and suddenly feel the urge to slow down—listen. Your body is recalibrating for everything you’ve just stepped into. Let it.
You’re not stuck. You’re integrating. And when you emerge, you’ll be fully aligned with the new level of you that you’ve already said yes to.
Because when we relax into our yes, the universe moves. And so does the body, it’s wise beyond comprehension.
