Several of my high school friends have mentioned that I appear to be aging backwards . (Thank you, that’s nice to hear!) I don’t know about that, but I do know that at age 40 I feel better than I did at 30, and it’s because I’ve started paying better attention to how I take care of myself. I’ve shifted many unhealthy habits to more supportive nurturing ones. I thank doTERRA for making living healthy super simple and accessible by providing the principle based philosophy and tools to support it. This simplicity translates to all other areas of life after a while.
I’ve learned through my own experience, study and practice that wellness is a combination of lifestyle and healthcare. When we focus on creating daily habits, health becomes more naturally achieved and maintained.
It’s not what we do once in a while that impacts us in a lasting way, its the seemingly small practices we anchor into our daily routine that make the lasting difference. It’s been 4 years since my life has been blessed by doTERRA’s simple system and nothing brings me more joy than sharing this information with you, to help you simplify your self-care habits, bring a sense of hope and healing into your your home, and to inspire you to live an empowered life.
Here are my favorite tools that I use as anchors to simple wellness principles that have made a huge impact on my life and health, and continue to do so: DAILY!
Daily Wellness Habits:
1. FUEL, SUPPORT amp; FORTIFY
I supplement DAILY with the Lifelong Vitality Pack, Terrazyme Digestive Enzymes and PB Assist. I take a dose in the morning and at night to maximize daily nutrient intake, support digestive function, and to support my immune system. This has seriously increased my energy, improved my skin, and amped up my immune system. Best supplements I’ve ever taken, hands down. This has been the most impactful daily habit I’ve ever established, and i’ve been going strong with it for 4 years and running. I should add, I tote a water bottle all day errday too!
2. MOVE THAT BODY
Daily movement is critical for so much more than keeping physically fit. For me it is necessary for improved thinking, stronger relationships, and expressing my purpose in life. Even 15 minutes of movement a day will help you!
I’ve been hitting Orange Theory Fitness a couple days a week at 5am and it makes such a difference in my energy throughout the day. I use Deep Blue rub before my workout on my low back and hamstrings to soothe and support achy muscles. After the workout I can feel the warming and cooling effects still working their magic.
I love using Breathe, Respiratory blend over my chest before a run or yoga practice to connect to deeper breathing and to open up my senses to be fully present in what I’m doing.
3. SLEEP amp; STRESS MANAGEMENT
Sleep improves our mood and gives the body the chance to repair and restore. It is estimated that 80% of disease is the result of persistent stress. Essential oils provide dynamic support for consistent sleep and managing stress, and I’ve learned to LEAN IN on the support mother nature provides. I’m a strict guardian of my sleep and make it a point to get 7-8 hours nightly. If I drop below 6, I can feel it the next day and I likely won’t be too much fun to be around.
Balance Grounding Blend is a stellar example of an anchor I use to calm and ground my emotions. I use it daily over my heart, on the bottom of my feet and on my pulse points to help me relax, manage stress and bring me out of my head and more into full embodied presence.

4. REDUCE TOXIC LOAD
“Toxic load” refers to the volume of substances that have been accumulated in the body at any given time and the overall burden it places on the body systems and vital organs. Toxins come from countless sources, many of which we are not even aware of. Technically, every substance that has a consistent chemical composition is a “chemical,” but in commonly used terms, a chemical is any substance (natural or synthetic) that can stress the body.
Your body has a number of different passageways through which it is directly exposed to toxins and several different mechanisms that it uses to deal with this exposure. The three most vulnerable pathways are the lungs, the digestive tract, and the skin.
We are directly exposed to toxins through the food we eat, the air we breathe, and anything that contacts our skin. While minimizing exposure to potentially harmful chemicals on a daily basis is the most effective method, you can be proactive about reducing toxic loads already in the body.
I use a drop or two of citrus oils in my water daily for gentle, natural cleansing.
